10-17-05: Aw, poop. No comic :( Updates to Afflicted will probably be sporadic for now. No one seems to care about it anyway so it doesn't matter. It was different when Freedom Fries was a simple gag comic that I drew quickly and Afflicted was to be my serious mood comic that I'd use to experiment with and work on my art. Now with the changes to Freedom Fries it's filled up that gap so Afflicted isn't as important. I still plan to update it now and then but it won't be once a week. If a good artist out there wants to take over drawing this then send me an e-mail at LibertyCabbage@hotmail.com . 10-10-05: color n_n i shaded it too omfg .... 10-3-05: Chapter 1 is done =] It's shorter than I plan on the other chapters being but it's more of an introduction kinda thing. I made the Archive page, too. I'll get more stuff up when I feel like it =/ Leave some feedback now and then, these pages are really hard to do and it's very experimental for me. There's a poll for which page in Chapter 1 you liked the most so... hit it! Chapter 2 will all be in AMAZING FULL COLOUR so if you aren't wearing diapers go put some on cuz you're gonna WET YOURSELF! nyu! -lc 9-19-05: Cool and weird update today. I did use copy+paste but I hope you can see I used it creatively instead of 'cuz I'm lazy. Regarding the kidnapper wearing a NIN shirt, I'm a big Nine Inch Nails fan so I'm kinda making fun of myself, I guess. Not much to say about today's comic although maybe it's 'cuz I just typed that long announcement thing for Freedom Fries so I don't wanna write anymore. I've got the concept sketch of the new dudes as a voting incentive. 9-12-05: 2nd page! This page is interesting because I haven't had much practice with drawing side views but I wanted to have some in here so hopefully it was good practice =/ And also, it's hard to think of stuff to write as graffiti cuz graffiti is just like stupid peoples' scribbles. Anyway, nice page, good job, glab glab, see ya next week. And don't forget to post on the NEW SHOUTBOX-Y THING. Also here's a sketch of the girls early on. I drew the heads and my sister drew the bodies and then she changed some stuff with the faces. So basically it's me and my sister sketching the characters. I'm pretty sure it was her idea to give the 4th one overalls so kudos to her. Hey! I have an idea! I'll stop making comics and start designing clothes for children!! YEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!! -LC 9-6-05: Good news! I learned a lot about the capabilities of Photoshop over the Labor Day weekend including the adjustment of contrast and brightness of pictures so I used that to (hopefully) improve the look of the Afflicted comics somewhat. So if you think page 1 looks different for some reason, it is =D I also modified the cover page but it's already black and white so the change is very subtle. And also I made some big changes to the final version of the Gen-Chan pic so even if you've already seen it, vote again and see the new version! And yet another ALSO, I spent like all day yesterday making the 3rd page so hopefully you'll get some enjoyment out of it when it appears in a few weeks. -LC 9-5-05: First page is up! I hope you like it @=(^^@) KAPOW! You can see why I only do it once a week =/ If I didn't do Freedom Fries I could do more but it's a lot of work so there =/ I think it looks pretty snazzy as is but this style is new to me so hopefully I'll be improving quickly which means it'll be even MORE snazzy. To get the show on the road I registered Afflicted in some big name comic voting list things, yada yada, so anyways I've been working on a drawing of the ComicGenesis mascot, Gen-Chan, so I've got the three main stages as the vote pics. So you get to see the process or whatever. Wow! Amazing! So anyway vote so Afflicted will be on the top of the lists instead of crappy sprite comics. Step 1: Pencilled version ... Step 2: Inked version ... Step 3: Final version ... Yeah so vote vote vote. Page 2 will be up next Monday, I've already finished it ^_^. I dunno how long I'm gonna be able to go without missing an update but I've been doing FF for 7 months now without missing so I think I can do it. =/ -LC |
